Top Honors Recognized at the 2016 Motor Press Guild Awards

DECEMBER 14, 2016 — Preston Lerner took top honors in the Best of the Year: Book category for “Ford GT: How Ford Silenced the Critics, Humbled Ferrari and Conquered Le Mans” at last night’s Annual Motor Press Guild Awards presented at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Orange County. The comprehensive 224-page hardcover book, which details the entire Ford GT program from start to finish, also earned Lerner the 2016 Dean Batchelor Award for Excellence in Automotive Journalism. 2016 Callaway Camaro SC610 Unveiled

FEBRUARY 19, 2016 — Callaway Cars unveiled their new 610-horsepower 2016 Callaway Camaro at a private reception held for MPG members at the Santa Ana factory last month on February 18th. Top Honors Recognized at the 2015 Motor Press Guild Awards

DECEMBER 16, 2015 — Micah Muzio of Kelley Blue Book and COTU Productions took top honors in the Best Vehicle Review (Video) category for his 10-point analysis of the 2015 Polaris Slingshot at last night’s Annual Motor Press Guild Awards presented at the newly redesigned Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The entertaining 7-minute video, which outlines the pros and cons of this unusual three-wheeled motorcycle, also earned Muzio the 2015 Dean Batchelor Award for Excellence in Automotive Journalism. Motor Press Guild Announces 2015 MPG Award Finalists

DECEMBER 11, 2015– The annual Motor Press Guild Awards, including the Dean Batchelor Award, will be presented this December 15th at 6:30 pm at the newly redesigned Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The Motor Press Guild Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to Doug Stokes during the event. MPG President Jason Fogelson will host the ceremonies, and comedian Christopher Titus will make a special appearance.

This annual celebration of excellence honors the best in automotive journalism. The MPG Awards are designed to inspire automotive journalists, both present and future, to produce work of the highest professional caliber in eight specific categories: Feature articles, news stories, vehicle reviews (in both print and video format), books, audio programs, video features, and photography. Steve McQueen’s Last Special-Order Porsche to be Offered at Mecum Monterey

1976 Porsche Turbo 930 Personalized by The King of Cool to Cross the Block Aug. 15

WALWORTH, Wis. (July 14, 2015) – The very last car special-ordered by The King of Cool—the late mega movie star Steve McQueen—will be offered for sale at the Mecum Daytime Auction in Monterey this Aug. 13-15 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa – Del Monte Golf Course. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera will be donated to McQueen’s alma mater, the reform school Boys Republic. “This car is rich in history,” says McQueen’s son Chad. “This is the last of the McQueen cars, really. Motor Press Guild Names Ford F-150 And BMW i8 Winners Of 2014 Innovation Vehicle Of The Year Awards

LOS ANGELES (November 19, 2014) —  The Motor Press Guild (MPG), the largest automotive media association in North America, announced two winners of its 2014 Innovation Vehicle of the Year (IVY) Award today, with the 2015 Ford F-150 winning the under $30,000 class and 2014 BMW i8 taking the award for the $30,000 and over category. LA AUTO SHOW plans stunning showcase of classics, exotics and tuners at 2014 MPG Motoring Invitational

LOS ANGELES (November 6, 2014) – The Los Angeles Auto Show (LA Auto Show) confirmed today that it will host nearly 50 unique and historic vehicles as part of its Motor Press Guild (MPG) Motoring Invitational on November 19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center’s Gilbert Lindsay Plaza. Acura Senior Vice President and General Manager Michael Accavitti to discuss Acura brand momentum and the launch of the all-new TLX luxury performance sedan at MPG Luncheon

LOS ANGELES (August 25, 2014) – On September 16, 2014 the Motor Press Guild (MPG), the largest automotive media association in North America, will feature Michael Accavitti, Acura Division’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, for a special presentation on the Acura brand. Accavitti will also discuss the launch of the highly anticipated Acura TLX luxury performance sedan. The Acura TLX is the first new fully realized product to come out of Acura since the brand became more autonomous from its parent company, Honda. The launch campaign is also making the news for its claim of being the “biggest marketing campaign in the brand’s history.”
