2013 Cadillac ATS Receives the Motor Press Guild 2012 Vehicle of the Year Award 

MPG President Laura Burstein will present the MPG Vehicle of the Year Award to Cadillac at the L.A. Auto Show at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 at the Cadillac stand in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Audi A7 is the Motor Press Guild 2011 Vehicle of the Year

VOTY Award Presented at the LA Auto Show, Audi Booth

Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen accepted the MPG VOTY award from MPG President Laura Burstein. Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG for Marketing and Sales, participated in the ceremony. The award was designed by Art Center College of Design.

Audi A7 Wins Motor Press Guild Vehicle of the Year Award?
MPG members invited to attend presentation and reception at the L.A. Auto Show Nov. 16

The 2012 Audi A7 is the winner of the first-ever Motor Press Guild Vehicle of the Year (VOTY) award. MPG President Laura Burstein will present the award to Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen at Audi's press conference on the first day of the Los Angeles Auto Show press days on Nov. 16.

All MPG members with credentials for the L.A. Auto Show press days are invited to attend the award presentation and cocktail reception following the press conference at the Audi stand.

Five Finalists on track at Track Day Event October 11-13

Tuesday, October 11. Motorpress Journalist members tested the five finalists on the track during the Track Day event, and cast their ballots for the winners. Announcements to come later this year.

All nominated cars will be present at Track Day Oct. 11-12. Journalist members attending Track Day will vote on our 2011 MPG Vehicle of the Year.


MPG Moves Forward with New Vehicle of the Year Award

Monday, June 27, 2011. The Motor Press Guild is proud to announce a jury panel has been selected for the first-ever Motor Press Guild Vehicle of the Year (VOTY) award program. The award will recognize the most significant new vehicle introduced in the calendar year as judged by the Motor Press Guild journalist members and should be considered overall best in its particular class. The VOTY winner will be announced at the Los Angeles International Auto Show as a prelude to the annual keynote speech.

Judging criteria
Vehicles will be evaluated on a number of attributes, including: 
  • Safety
  • Quality
  • Value
  • Performance/Handling
  • Design/Style
  • Environment/Green
  • Technology/Innovation
  • Eligibility
Eligible vehicles must be newly introduced and represent an all-new architecture or be substantially changed from its previous generation. All vehicles considered for this year's MPG VOTY must be on sale by January 1, 2012.

Process
The jury panel was selected from current MPG members in good standing and represent mainstream automotive national, local, enthusiast print and broadcast publications. Jurors will evaluate vehicles via their regularly scheduled loans from manufacturers and will rank their top five choices. the top five vehicles will then be made available at the MPG Track Day 2011 for evaluation by all driving-eligible MPG journalist members.  Track Day attendees will vote on their selection and the final winner will be announced on the first morning of the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show prior to the keynote address.
