Willow Springs International Raceway
Details are still being finalized, but please save the date for the 2017 Test Fest/Track Day event at Willow Springs Raceway. We’ve made quite a few changes to this year’s event that are designed to increase the number of vehicles manufacturers bring to the event, deliver more quality seat time behind the wheel for our members, and improve event coverage.
8:00 am – Registration opens; Coffee and cold drinks sponsored all day by Nissan; snacks sponsored by Toyota
9:00 am – Track talk – All things open for driving: Track opens/street drives/off-road
11:30 to 1pm – Roaming lunch sponsored by Hyundai, dessert sponsored by Lexus
12:30 to 1pm – Track closes
1:30 to 4:30pm – All things open for driving: Track opens/street drives/off-road
4:30 pm – Track closes
5:00 to 7:00pm – “Beat the Traffic” Afterparty at BeX Bar and Grille sponsored by Volkswagen, with bowling sponsored by General Motors
Journalist and Analyst members in good standing will be able to drive on both off-road courses and the street drives without restriction.
However, driving on the racing circuits at Willow Springs will be on an INVITE ONLY basis. This is a new policy for 2017.
Once the application is submitted, the Track Day committee will review the member’s qualifications and determine if they have sufficient experience to drive vehicles on the track. While proof of a racing license is obviously beneficial, the Track Day committee is more interested in safe attendance at recent track events with a major manufacturer.
